Dr. Julia McGary met Dr. Amy in 2011 when they both became founding members of a local study club. After she retired from her practice in Marysville, she started working at New Life Dental Arts in March 2023 as an interim hygienist and dentist. With her incredible skills, knowledge, and exceptional care for her patients, she was an excellent fit from the start.
Dr. Julia grew up in California and went to hygiene school in Hayward, California, where she later returned to teach. Her father was a dentist, so dentistry was a natural fit for her and turned out to be a career she thrived in with her strong desire to grow and learn. Not surprisingly, Dr. Julia went on to dental school 7 years later at the University of Pacific in San Francisco, and graduated in 2002.
In 2003, she started her practice in Marysville, Washington, where she practiced for 20 years as an esteemed member of the dental community. Her endless desire to learn led her to continuously explore new and improved ways to help her patients. She completed hundreds of hours of continuing education each year, far superior than the annual state minimum of 21 hours. She was an active member of the Spear Study Club and Spencer Study Club, both world-renowned programs. Always willing to go the extra mile for her patients, she also acquired her dental sedation permit to help patients overcome their dental fears.
Now semi-retired, Dr. Julia still enjoys being an active member our local dental community. Always willing to help, she is the perfect addition to NLDA, working as both a hygienist and dentist as the need arises. Our patients and team adore her, and we are finding any and every way we can to keep her around for as long as possible. When she is not at the office, you will find her quilting at home with her adorable rescue Beagles!
